Tadoba — Maharashtra’s most popular tiger reserve — was a major beneficiary of this tectonic change in choice for holidaying among the rich and happening. From just half a dozen resorts in Tadoba in 2010, the number has risen to almost 150 now. What is starting is the emergence of the uber-luxury resorts in the last seven to eight years, and the demand continues to increase. In the next two years, Tadoba will play host to resorts owned by uber-luxury hotel chains that have presence across the world.
Himanshu Bagde, a well known eco-tourism consultant, said, “International travel restrictions during Covid-19 were the game changer for Tadoba. Big industrialist families started landing here and were amazed to see the wildlife, flora and fauna that Tadoba offered. A few luxury resorts were already in operation, but the demand for more was clearly visible.”
